SYNOPSIS: No one understands the oil and energy industry. We had an interesting hook — let’s dive in by following one of its players that bridges all aspects; from the oil tycoons to the little guy who has oil on their property, let’s get to know the world of Landmen. We pitched to various networks and they expressed interest, but passed. A couple of years later the “Boomtown” podcast series was released. Showrunner Taylor Sheridan then made a script series based on that podcast, which had similiar beats to our docu-series.
